The rig is made up of a wagon with telescopic legs, motorised wheels and modular centrings.
The rig moves into the spot where the bypass is to be made thanks to a radio control and hydraulic technology on board, it extends the centring and makes it adhere to the intrados of the tunnel sections (previously positioned).
After the temporary steel reinforcement and the sections have been linked, the rig allows to hold into position those sections that are not concerned by the excavation of the bypass.
With "launching facilities" we refer here to those equipments that are used to lay reinforced-concrete artefacts, using hydraulic systems.

This kind of equipments are not sold on the market, since they are specially created in each single case, designed and built according to the needs of the project and of the customer.
These self-launching equipments are for the concrete casting of next sections for construction decks with high spans or for those works where the height of the pillar does not allow the use of different building typologies, distances between 80 and 170 meters with broad bends, while for distances higher than and equal to 600/700 meters it is possibile to use a stay cable system.
The equipment is mainly made up of two support structures, anchored to the deck symmetrically to the axis of the pillar, to which the wing, bottom and inner frames of formworks are linked.

It is usually mainly made of two support beams (with fore and backbeams). The two main beams are positioned parallel to the to-build deck and at the two sides of the pillars, supported by transversal rails with roller conveyors.
The two main beams have a formwork on top, with altimetric and geometric regulations, for the casting of the to-build span.
Once the casting and tensioning operations are over, the centring moves to the next span (self-launching system) for the preparation of a new casting.
Big trailers are special machines that work both as overhead cranes for the storage of prefab segments, and as for carrying the segments to the construction site for their positioning with launching facility.
This equipment is especially suitable for low-temperature places, since it allows to proceed with the artefacts storage for their next laying in less cold weather conditions.
